New City Catechism

This is not a blog article, but an awesome resource that just came out last week! Unfortunately, we we didn’t manage to get a Three for Thursday post put together since we were dealing with a baby that was swollen up like a balloon and had hives, but if we had this would have made the list. This is a new catechism jointly created by The Gospel Coalition and Redeemer Presbyterian Church. We currently have a blog post in the works about the importance of catechizing your children, so while you’re waiting with baited breath you’ll have to simply check out this wonderful new catechism complete with a groovy iPad app.

Kid’s in the Word: Reading Through Genesis

Amanda, from The Pelsers, shares how her son uses a Bible reading journal during his devotional time. I think this is such a great tool to encourage your children to think more deeply about what they’re reading in scripture, but I had never though about it prior to reading this post. I think I’ll try to put something together for Bradley to start using during his time in the Bible each morning. If your child is reading through Genesis, Amanda already has a free journal printable created that she shares on her blog, so you’ll definitely have to go check that out!

Death of a PETA Spokesman

We often hear the benefits of a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle lauded, but is this type of dietary lifestyle as healthy as it appears on the surface? Will a low-fat plant based diet protect you from cardiovascular disease? Dr. Kayla Daniel spearheads this question on the heals of the death of a devoted vegan. If you’ve been searching for nutritional answers you’ll want to check out this article. It’s very informative and well written!
