This homemade French Toast lip scrub recipe is a super tasty way to spoil your lips with some wonderful self-care.
Using lip scrubs are a fantastic way to keep your lips feeling smooth. Not only does this mean more kissable lips but it also allows lipstick, liners, and glosses to last longer on your lips.
A lip scrub works like other body scrubs: it exfoliates your lips, getting rid of dead skin cells, helping your lips to retain their moisture.
This recipe will yield ¼ cup of lip scrub. It is enough to fill up 4 small lip balm containers. It goes FAST—because it tastes SO good!
You’ll notice one of the main ingredients in this lip scrub is sugar. It’s the main exfoliating agent, but it also helps the scrub taste good (salt works to exfoliate too, but it would taste terrible in a lip scrub!). You’ll only use a teaspoon or less to scrub your lips each time, and most of it gets rinsed off, so if you avoid eating sugar, no worries– using this scrub won’t increase your sugar intake a noticeable amount. 🙂

Can you use coconut oil instead of almond oil? And if so my coconut oil is in solid form. So would I met it and then mix or mix it solid? My first batch didn’t turn out so well
Trisha Gilkerson
Yes, you can use coconut oil. It will likely mix better with the other ingredients if you melt it first. The final product will be a different texture since almond oil is liquid at any temperature, but it should still work.
Debbie
I’d think if you melted and then cooled to room temp it should work.

Can I use coconut sugar or brown sugar instead of white sugar?
Trisha Gilkerson
I wouldn’t do that for this recipe. The sugar is there to help exfoliate and brown sugar and coconut sugar have quite a bit of a different texture.

Just tried the recipe. I opted for caster sugar so it could be used daily, though I had to nearly double the sugar to get the end product the right consistency. It’s actually really nice, and made the cut to be one of the gifts inside a bridal shower favor bag full of homemade self care items in a couple of weeks. My sister was my product tester, as she would tell me if there was anything she didn’t like about it~and I wanted honesty! She complimented the taste, said she could taste the maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg and yes, it tasted like French toast 🙂 My question is how to store it…I refrigerate my maple syrup after opening, and this has maple syrup in it…does it need refrigeration to prevent mold or can it be left at room temperature for up to 6 months without any potential for spoilage?

Thanks for sharing! Should I keep it somewhere specific?
