I’m a bit confused. At the bottom of the BYOB page, it says: “All downloads expire after 30 days of purchase, per the terms agreed to at the time of purchase.” does that mean that I have 30 days to download the items or only 30 days of access?

It just means you must download your files within 30 days. You will have access to them indefinitely – for as long as you keep them stored on your computer (or backed up on a drive).
